The associate of science degree prepares you for transfer to a four-year university and is a Tennessee Transfer Pathway.

Tennessee Transfer Pathways (TTPs) enable you to complete your two-year degree at Motlow and then transfer to any Tennessee public university, and several Tennessee private universities, as a junior to complete your four-year bachelor’s degree.

What Are the Humanities?

The Ancient Greeks combined drama (tragedy and comedy) with art, music, history and philosophy. These subjects are the backbone of every Humanities department. Topics include:

  • The influence of art, music, theatre, and communication on societies and individuals
  • How our ideas, beliefs, values and actions stem from the past
  • How science and technology impact who we are today
  • Understanding the economic, political and social forces that shape our personal and communal world
  • The social sciences: cultural history, anthropology, sociology, political science and economics
