The Art Studio concentration prepares you for a career in the visual arts or for transfer to a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) program or a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) program. Both degrees are Tennessee Transfer Pathways (TTP). TTPs enable you to complete your degree at Motlow and then transfer to any Tennessee public university, and several Tennessee private universities, to complete your bachelor’s degree.

These options provide the skills necessary to be successful in the field of art. Build confidence in your abilities and the quality of your professional portfolios. Participate in rigorous problem solving and conceptual assignments to develop critical thinking and aesthetic understanding skills. Studio Art is designed to teach you the history, skills, and creative processes of professional artists.

Create visual art through painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, or design. Studio Art is visual art made in a studio. Explore your creative abilities. Develop and practice skills in problem solving. Cultivate your aesthetic sensitivity and visual awareness.
