Would you like to design and construct the infrastructure of America? If the answer is yes, then we have the degree for you. Civil engineers create everything from roads, tunnels and bridges, to airports and dams. The Associate of Science degree in Civil Engineering teaches skills in decision making, leadership, math problem solving, and organization. This program is designed for students who intend to transfer to a four-year institution.

Practical Experience

In addition to the core curriculum, the pre-engineering program introduces

  • Matrices, systems of linear equations, determinants, vectors, vector spaces, eigenvalues, eigenvectors and other selected topics
  • Probability and statistics
  • Differentiation and integration or trigonometric, inverse trigonometric, logarithmic and exponential functions and integration techniques
  • Ordinary differential equations with applications, numerical solutions, power series and Laplace transforms
  • Particle kinematics, kinematics of rigid bodies, absolute and relative motion, kinetics, applications of Newton's Laws and other scientific principles
  • Vector algebra, resultants, equilibrium, friction, centers of gravity, centroid, moments of inertia, statics of particles and analysis of structures
