Responsible Executive: Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs

I. PURPOSE

The Faculty and Staff Development Committee of Motlow State Community College (Motlow State) recommends to the Institutional Oversight Committee (IOC) activities that serve the best interests of faculty and staff in the area of professional development for Fall Convocation and Spring Assembly.

II. DUTIES

The duties of the Committee are to:

  1. Survey annually all faculty and staff to ascertain activities to promote continued professional growth.
  2. Using results from the survey, present a yearly plan to the IOC to plan for professional development activities.
  3. Participate in the formation, dissemination, and implementation of the annual faculty and staff professional development budget.
  4. Make other appropriate professional development recommendations to the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs (EVPAA).

III. MEMBERSHIP

This Committee is composed of the following members:

  1. EVPAA (Chair) (Ex-officio, non-voting);
  2. Department Leads;
  3. One (1) faculty member from each campus selected by the Faculty Council for a two-year term;
  4. One (1) administrative employee selected by Administrative Council for a two-year term; and
  5. One (1) classified employee selected by Support Staff Council for a two-year term.
