The Education Department at Motlow College is the place to get started -- with quality educational opportunities available for students seeking careers in areas of instruction and care from infants and toddlers to preschoolers and elementary students. The Education Department offers programs in Early Childhood Education, Special Education (Modified K-12), Secondary Education in Mathematics and a degree program for Health, Physical Education and Recreation. Regardless of which program of study you choose, you can be sure that the faculty and staff of the Education Department strive to prepare students for a lifetime of learning and teaching.
2 + 2 Opportunities in K-6 Education
Motlow College has partnered with two area universities to provide 2+2 programs in elementary education. A 2+2 program allows students to complete the Associate of Science in Teaching degree with Motlow College and complete the bachelor's degree in elementary education K-6 with a university on one of Motlow's campuses. This program is offered in partnership with Tennessee Technological University (TTU) Motlow's main Moore County campus or at the McMinnville Center campus and in partnership with Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) on the Smyrna campus.
- Tennessee Tech
Students who complete the Motlow College curriculum and enter either MTSU or TTU should be prepared for a full-time, day-time program of study. These programs are fall-entry only programs so students are encouraged to work closely with their advisors to ensure that all requirements are met. All observations, practicum courses and student teaching assignments are made with local school districts.
Upon becoming university students, university fees and tuition apply and students are taught by university faculty.
