Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) save lives and make critical decisions by responding to emergency medical calls. Motlow's EMS program prepares you with the tools to save lives. This is a fast paced, high-energy program and we expect you to utilize those characteristics when you exit the program. EMS graduates are detail-oriented, empathetic, compassionate, and systematic, and can be authoritative and directive.

EMS Admissions is Competitive

Admission to the EMS program is limited and competitive. Choose between EMT, AEMT and Paramedic. Consider a degree or certificate. Complete your program in six months, 12 months, or two years. Motlow has a wide variety of options for high-demand, first responder jobs.

The Motlow State EMS Education program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs ( upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).

EMS graduates are eligible to sit for the practical certification examination administered by the Tennessee Division of Emergency Medical Services as well as the written exam administered by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.
