I've been told to get Online, but I don't understand which system I need?
This can be confusing:
Webway allows the student to apply for Admission, register for courses, check grade and schedules, pay bills, and various other administrative functions.
D2L is used once you have registered for a course and need to begin your class work. It is used by both Motlow Online Courses and RODP courses. See differences below.
Email allows you to check for important notices and announcement concerning classes, registration, etc.
What's the difference between D2L and RODP?
RODP (Regents Online Degree Program) are classes offered online from the Tennessee Board of Regents. They cost more than normal Motlow courses and are identified by having a section number of R50 or greater. Motlow also offers online courses. Both of these use D2L as the means to access your online course. Although RODP and Motlow Online Courses both use D2L they use different Usernames and PIN's for access.
I'm confused about PIN's and Passwords, What's the difference?
Some systems require a PIN (Personal Identification Number) to login while others refer to this as a Password.
Motlow has 3 systems that students need to access during their course of study: Webway, D2L and Email. Your Password/PIN for your Email account is not validated at the same location as your PIN for Webway. They can be the same but do not have to be. All PINs and Passwords are initially set to your birth date (MMDDYY format). Your must change your Email password the first time you login.
Use the following guide:
Email Accounts: Username is (First Initial, Last Name and MMDD of birth date)
Password: Initially is MMDDYY of birth date but must be change on first login.
Webway: You must use your Student ID ( SSN or CWID) and your PIN (MMDDYY).
D2L ID: Id is (First Initial, Last Name and MMDD of birth date)
Password: This will be the same as your email and computer login password.
NOTE: Although both are originally set to be the same, your email PIN and your Webway PIN can be different if you have changed them.
You may also click here for five logins to remember - we suggest you print this and carry with you.
I just changed my password and now neither the old or new password works.
Close down all open Internet browser windows and then reopen Motlow's homepage and log back in.
When I try to login to Webway, I get an error something about a "TIP"?
This is usually caused by using AOL. All you have to do is minimize AOL once you get on the Internet, and bring up Internet Explorer and login from there.
I am trying to access the library databases, but it won't accept my password.
Username and passwords are the same as your Motlow Student Email. If you have never logged into your email, you must first go to the Student Email link from the top of our homepage and login to your email and change the password first. Then go back to the library database and use the new password you just created.
I called the Helpdesk and they refused to tell me my PIN?
Due to the government privacy act, Motlow has to be very careful in giving out student information over the phone. In Webway, you can click on the (I forgot MY Pin) tab, answer your personal question and then reset your PIN. You can also appear in person at the Helpdesk or at the Admissions Office, show proof of identification, and then someone will reset your PIN.
