The Sparta Location opened in Fall 2007. It is not a Motlow Site or Center, but it is a unique partnership for fostering higher education in White County. The idea originated from the City of Sparta's Mayor Tommy Pedigo in Fall 2006. He discussed his idea with Motlow's President, Dr. Apple, and the rest is history. In one year, the City of Sparta, White County, the White County Board of Education, and Motlow State Community College had worked out a partnership agreement to offer evening courses in Sparta. Funding for the facility comes from the City of Sparta, White County, and the White County Board of Education. Motlow State Community College provides the administrative functions and handles daily operations. Mrs. Linda Mackie was hired as the Sparta Coordinator in July 2007 with the first classes starting in August 2007. This location operates under the McMinnville Center.

In addition to the facility offering classes for White County and surrounding county residents, the White County Board of Education took their focus on higher education a step further. Dual enrollment classes are offered at White County High School for Juniors and Seniors. Eligible students can take one class and receive $300 from the Tennessee dual enrollment grant, and then take a second class and receive $300 from the White County Board of Education. Mr. Donny Haley, Director of Schools, initiated this unique idea to encourage students to begin their college courses early.
