Program Description
The Pre-Law program at Motlow College is a great path for students who wish to pursue a baccalaureate degree in Pre-Law or Political Science. This program area allows students an opportunity to develop a basic understanding of the intricacies of our judicial system. Students will be introduced to the following curriculum:
- the structure and function of our judicial system
- the legal and regulatory side of business
- torts, contracts and business ethics
- the structure and function of our local government
- causes, effects and solutions to environmental issues and problems
- the effects of lifestyle choices on our community, society and economy
- basic micro and macroeconomic principles
- and other dynamic and very interesting coursework that prepare students for bachelor's degree completion at any one of Tennessee's state colleges and universities
Practical Experience
Students will be engaged in learning through:
- critical thinking
- in-depth research and analysis
- interaction with students and instructors
- exposure to fascinating coursework, lectures and classroom interaction
Career Opportunities
Motlow's Associates of Science degree in Pre-Law is great preparation for entry into a four-year Pre-Law program at one of Tennessee's colleges or universities. A bachelor's degree program in Pre-Law is intended to be a pre-professional degree leading to law school. Upon completion of a bachelor's degree program and/or Juris Doctor degree program, possible career opportunities may include:
- victim's advocate
- paralegal
- attorney (post Juris Doctor)
- judge (post Juris Doctor)
