Program Description
The History program within the Social Sciences Department is designed to allow students an opportunity to develop a solid foundation for further educational and career opportunities. In addition to core courses, students will participate in the following curriculum:
- U.S. History
- World Civilization
- American government
- State and local government
Practical Experience
Students will examine history as never before through exposure to the following:
- study of United States history from the founding of the nation to present time
- study of historical facts in world history from pre-history through present time
- study the complexities of our constitutional principles
- study the function and structure of the three branches of the federal government
- examine the policies, structure and function of our local government with special emphasis on the State of Tennessee
