Program Description

The History program within the Social Sciences Department is designed to allow students an opportunity to develop a solid foundation for further educational and career opportunities. In addition to core courses, students will participate in the following curriculum:

U.S. History
World Civilization
American government
State and local government

Practical Experience

Students will examine history as never before through exposure to the following:

study of United States history from the founding of the nation to present time
study of historical facts in world history from pre-history through present time
study the complexities of our constitutional principles
study the function and structure of the three branches of the federal government
examine the policies, structure and function of our local government with special emphasis on the State of Tennessee
