General Education Requirements

  • ENGL 1010, 1020 / 6 credit hours
  • COM 1010 / 3 credit hours
  • ENGL 2030 / 3 credit hours
  • One of the following: ENGL 2130 or 2230 or 2330 / 3 credit hours
  • ART 1030, COM 1030, or MUS 1030 / 3 credit hours
  • HIST 2010, 2020 / 6 credit hours
  • Two of the following: ANT 2010, ECON 2010, POL 1110, PSY 1310, or SOC 2110
  • One year sequence in BIOL, CHEM, or PHYS or BIOL 1030 and either PSCI 1030 or GEOL 1030 / 8 credit hours
  • One of the following: MATH 1010, 1530, 1630, or 1710 / 3 credit hours

    Area of Emphasis Requirements

  • ART 2110 / 3 credit hours
  • COM 1110, 1120,* and 1130 / 9 credit hours
  • COM Electives / 6 credit hours
  • General Electives / 1 credit hour
    		•

    *COM 1120 requires the completion of BIT 1000 and/or the ability to type 35-40 words per minute.

    Students who are planning to pursue licensure in secondary education at MTSU or TTU should take EDU 2110 and either EDU 1110 or EDU 1120 as prerequisites for admission to teacher education programs.
