Nursing A.A.S. Two-Year Application Checklist

for the 2017 Incoming Class

Be admitted to the college with all college/high school transcripts received by the Admission's Office by January 31, 2017. If you have a college degree, you do not have to submit a high school transcript.

Have Nursing Program application submitted by 4:30 pm CST on January 31, 2017.

Register by the application deadline and take the HESI Entrance Exam at Motlow State during the spring semester with fee paid within ten days of registration (see HESI information).

Email a scanned copy of the HESI entrance exam's summary report to if it was taken at another institution or another year at Motlow State by 4:30 pm CST on January 31, 2017. All fees must be paid by the application deadline.

Have all learning supports completed.

Grade point average must be a 2.75 or higher at the end of 2016 fall semester. The grade point average will be calculated using required nursing courses only for students with college credits/degrees. High schools students must have a 2.75 grade point average.

If A&P and Microbiology have already been taken, to meet requirements of the program, they must have been taken within five years of beginning the nursing program and completed with a "C" or better.

Students with college credits/degrees: Quality points can be earned by taking BIOL 2010, MATH 1530, and ENGL 1010 and making a grade of an A or B prior to being admitted.

High school students: Quality points can be earned quality points by having ACT scores of 21 or higher in Math, Science, and Reading.

The deadline to submit the program application, to register to take the HESI entrance exam, to submit the scanned summary report of HESI entrance exam taken another year at Motlow State or at another institution, to submit a scanned copy of your LPN license (if applicable), is January 31, 2017 at 4:30 CST. All fees must be paid by the application deadline.
