HESI (Health Education Systems) Entrance Examination

What is the HESI Entrance Exam?

The entrance examination for the Motlow Nursing Program is the Admission Assessment by Health Education Systems (HESI). Areas covered on the test must include math, reading comprehension, vocabulary and general knowledge, grammar, and anatomy and physiology. There will also be a Learning Style/Personality Profile assessment included. Only these sections will be used to calculate the score considered for entrance into the nursing program. The maximum time allowed for the exam is 3 hours, but each person works at his/her own pace, so it could take less than 3 hours for you to complete the exam. You must register indicating the campus you wish to take the exam.

When do I take the test and how do I sign up to take it?

The entrance exam is given on the computer in the Motlow College Testing Center on Moore County campus in February and on the Smyrna Campus in March.
