McMinnville's Breanna Lynn Taylor receives Jarrell Nursing Scholarship at Motlow College

November 4, 2013

Breanna Lynn Taylor of McMinnville has been chosen to retain the Rhonda (Roni) and Max Jarrell Nursing Scholarship for the second consecutive academic year at Motlow College.

Breanna Lynn Taylor, second from left, is the recipient of the Rhonda (Roni) and Max Jarrell Nursing Scholarship. Pictured from left are Max Jarrell, Taylor, Roni Jarrell and Jan Rogers, director of advancement at Motlow College.
"Nursing school is very hard to accomplish unless you have a great support system," Taylor explained. "Along with my mother and father, family, friends and classmates; Roni and Max have been wonderful. They are there when you need them for any advice or help. I am thankful they have been so gracious to give a scholarship to students who want to better themselves."

"We are very fortunate to have generous donors such as the Jarrells, who value education enough to give not only scholarship dollars but also their time to serve as mentors for our students," said Jan Rogers, director of advancement for the Motlow College Foundation. "As a nurse Roni has worked in health care for many years and shares her knowledge with students as well as encouraging them when the going gets tough.

"Our nursing program is the most expensive to run, which also means it is more expensive for our students," added Rogers. "To keep producing the quality of nurses for which Motlow is known, we must keep up with the technological changes in the medical field so that our training remains timely. We depend upon the generosity of our donors for equipment purchases and scholarship funds."

The Motlow College Foundation is a 501c3. To find out more about setting up a scholarship fund, contact Ms. Rogers at 931-393-1692 or email her at Visit the Motlow College Foundation online.
