Michelle St. John of Morrison, a sophomore honors student at Motlow College, was recently selected to receive the first Katherine Knowles Glass Honors Scholarship to be awarded. St. John is pursuing an associate's degree in accounting and is a member of the Honors Program where she donates her time to help tutor others.

St. John said, "I have had a love for math since I was a little girl running around playing with a calculator. That love only grew when I joined Future Business Leaders of America in high school and I worked my way up to state president of the club." She said she has discovered her passion in life is to do what others hate…taxes. Her plans after Motlow are to pursue a bachelor's degree in accounting and eventually become a certified public accountant.

John and Reba Shipp of Atlantic Beach, Fla. recently established the Katherine Knowles Glass Honors Scholarship funded by the Shipp Family Trust. The scholarship is in honor of the contributions a spouse of a college president makes to the community. This honors scholarship was named for Kathy Glass, wife of Motlow's third president, Dr. Frank Glass.
