Motlow Ladies Philanthropic Society will host Fall Coffee at Smyrna Center Oct. 13Oct. 1, 2015
The Motlow Ladies Philanthropic Society (MLPS) will host its annual Fall Coffee at the Smyrna Center on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 10 a.m.
MLPS is a group of women dedicated to making a difference in the lives of other women, with the main focus being on the non-traditional (23 years and over) student in need of financial assistance. Donations aid women who do not qualify for the HOPE scholarship or the Tennessee Promise, and who rarely meet federal aid requirements. Membership is made up of ladies who donate at least $100 per year.
"Many of these students are single mothers and have little or no other options for the financial support needed to obtain the education needed to improve the quality of their life and their children's lives," said Jan Rogers, director of advancement at Motlow. "Since inception, MLPS has awarded scholarships to over 50 deserving students."
All current MLPS members are encouraged to attend and bring a friend.
Anyone wishing to come to the fall coffee and learn more about the group should call Phyllis Daniel at 931-393-1543 or contact the Motlow College Foundation, a 501c3, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org for reservations.
