Motlow College Foundation Golf Tournament Sept. 19 at Bear TraceAug. 19, 2014
The Motlow College Foundation is planning its 21st annual golf tournament for Friday, Sept. 19 at The Bear Trace at Tims Ford State Park.
This year's event is being sponsored by Jacobs Technology, Southern Tennessee Medical Center, Lakeway Publishers, Inc., Nationwide Express, Roscoe Brown, Inc., First Vision Bank, Kilgore Funeral Home, and the Franklin County Industrial Development Board. Russell Barnett is sponsoring the hole-in-one contest, as well as closest-to-the-pin and longest-drive contests. There will also be a special contest, the winner of which will win 50% of the contest proceeds.
All proceeds from the tournament benefit Motlow College students, primarily through scholarships including, but not limited to, honors, presidential, student government and athletic scholarships.
According to Jan Casey Rogers, director of advancement at the College, "The Motlow Foundation is a 501c3 and we depend heavily on the generosity of our sponsors and participants in this and other events that take place throughout the year for various student needs which are funded by the foundation. We would like this year to be our best yet, and hope everyone will participate or make a donation to the Motlow College Foundation to help us advance our mission to enrich and empower our students and the communities we serve."
The tournament is a four-person scramble with prizes for three places in two flights. The cost to participate is $110 per person or $440 per team, which includes greens fees, cart rental, mulligans and lunch. Lunch will be served at noon and tee time is 1:00 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, the rain date is Sept. 26. Please contact the Motlow College Foundation at 931-393-1543 or 931-393-1692 to sign up for the tournament.
