Motlow College, King University sign Reverse Transfer AgreementJuly 9, 2014
Motlow College and King University recently announced the signing of a reverse transfer agreement between the institutions during a meeting on Motlow's Moore County campus.
Motlow College recently hosted representatives from King University to sign a reverse transfer agreement between the two schools. The reverse transfer program is available to Motlow students who transfer to King prior to the completion of their associate degree, then complete those requirements at King. Standing from left; Dawn Copeland, assistant vice president for academic affairs at Motlow; Dr. Jon Harr, associate dean of academic affairs at King; and John King, vice president of enrollment management and chief development officer at King.
"We are very excited about forming another partnership that will provide additional options and opportunities for our students," said Dr. MaryLou Apple, president of Motlow College.
The reverse transfer program will be available to Motlow students who have transferred to King prior to the completion of their associate degree program. Upon transfer to King, students who have completed a minimum of 21 semester hours toward their associate degree at any Motlow location will be eligible for the reverse transfer program.
"We are pleased to partner with Motlow College," said Dr. Richard Ray, interim president of King University. "This is a tremendous opportunity for students to achieve their dreams of college completion at both the associate and baccalaureate levels."
According to the Tennessee Higher Education Commission's 2012 Articulation and Transfer Report, among private institutions in Tennessee, King currently ranks number one in the receipt of transfer students from community colleges and number three in the total number of transfers received.
"The reverse transfer creates a mechanism to send information to Motlow from King so those students who first attended Motlow can be awarded their associate degree through remaining course requirements completed at King," said Matt Roberts, chief academic officer and dean of Academic Affairs for King University.
Motlow College is accepting applications for the fall 2014 semester until Aug. 17. Regular and MSCC online classes are scheduled to begin at all Motlow campuses Aug. 25.
