Motlow Reveals a Fresh Look
New College and Athletic Logos Adopted
June 23, 2011
Motlow College began over 40 years ago in rural Moore County and since that first groundbreaking the growth and changes have been phenomenal. The College now has centers in Fayetteville, McMinnville and a soon-to-be expanded center in Smyrna. To continue to meet the needs of a growing enrollment and help attract new students, Motlow is putting on a new face for the 21st century.
The Fresh Look Project began in spring 2011 with a request to students, staff and faculty soliciting ideas for a new college logo and tagline. The goal was to create a new look that would sum up the essence of Motlow College, its programs and services. Over 80 suggestions were received and a focus group narrowed the choices to three to put before the students, faculty and staff for a vote. The tagline chosen was: My Motlow. My Future.
While the official name remains Motlow State Community College, the new logo which was developed in-house, features the abbreviated "MC" for Motlow College and the new tagline. A new logo was also developed for athletics with the help of local artist Clint Clarneau. While the mascot remains the same, the new logo depicts a Buck with much more of an athletic prowess instead of a hunting or wildlife image.
The new college and athletic logos will be featured on pole banners soon to be installed at all College centers.
