Motlow faculty member recognized by international honor societyJune 17, 2013
Gregg Garrison, an associate professor of biology at Motlow College, was named a 2013 Phi Theta Kappa Distinguished Advisor during the international honor society's annual convention in San Jose, Calif.
Award-winning advisors are those who make significant contributions to the growth of the individual members, serve as the chapter's advocate, and encourage chapter members to be involved on the local, regional and/or international level of the organization, according to information from Phi Theta Kappa.
"I am honored to be part of an organization that recognizes student excellence," Garrison said. "During the past eight years that I have worked as an advisor, I have gathered great memories of Phi Theta Kappa members experiencing what it means to be part of a group, developing leadership skills, traveling for the first time and getting accepted and receiving scholarships to the universities of their choice. I have seen Phi Theta Kappa change many students' lives and I am proud to be part of the organization."
Garrison, of McMinnville, joined the Motlow College faculty in 2005.
