Motlow Honors Program finishes Academic Year with SymposiumMay 14, 2015
The Motlow College honors program recently finished the 2014-15 academic year with its seventh annual Honors Symposium. The event was held inside the Marcum Technology Center on the Moore County campus.

"The Honors Symposium is an annual event that showcases the work that our students complete in their courses during the academic year," said Dr. Cook. "It is a time to celebrate all they do for the honors program and the college."
Honors students participated in discussion panels and made presentations on a variety of topics such as, "Declassifying Class, The Role of Poisons in American History", "Martin Luther King Jr. and Nonviolent Resistance", "Dixie Gone Dry: Prohibition in the South", "The Psychology of Alien Abductions", "The 'Not Guilty By Reason of Insanity' Defense", "Chinese Pillow Talk", and "The Great Gatsby: The Great American Novel".
Honors courses offered this past year included Speech, English Composition II, American History I and II, General Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Introduction to Sociology, Service Learning, Sex and the Supernatural Honors Seminar, Titanic in Literature and Film, Greek Mythology, American Literature, and World Literature I.
After the presentations, honors scholar graduates were recognized. Honors graduates this past year were Kelsey Adams, Caleb Bergert, Nathan Bergert, Matthew Bouldin, Kriston Brannan, Kyle Britt, Daniel Callahan, Kiley Curtis, Elizabeth Daniels, Cassie Disheroon, Zackary Fair, Hannah Fann, Dallas Foster, Rosalba Garcia-Hernandez, Jody Gordon, Matthew Jayne, Robin Keel, Rachel Luzader, Heather Morris, Brett Nieber, Larry Powell, Tessa Resko, Bradley Scarlett, Robin Stone, Mary Stubblefield, Sarah Temple, Eryn Tripp, Alma Villamar Portillo and Molli Vinson.
