March 28, 2012

Follett Bookstore at Motlow College will host local authors Lona Bailey and Weldon Payne for a book signing reception on Wednesday, Mar. 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The bookstore is located in the Forrester Student Center on the Moore County campus. The public is invited and refreshments will be served.

Bailey, a 2008 graduate of Motlow, will sign copies of her first book Continuer in Christ, a work of Christian non-fiction that analyzes the theme of faithfulness through personal stories and Bible scripture. Payne will sign copies of his latest novel It's Almost Tomorrow..., a collection of his "Through the Pane" newspaper columns which he has written for 49 consecutive years. Holiday columns are included along with many columns concerning Memorial Day, Veteran's Day and other tributes to American veterans of wars. His other published novels, Lonesome Time, Little Boys Bad, Beyond the Rain, and To Taste the Wild, will also be available for purchase, and several of his personal paintings will be on display. He and his wife Barbara have three children and eight grandchildren and live in Manchester.
