Motlow music department sponsors piano trio benefit concert Feb. 5

LYNCHBURG, TN (Jan. 28, 2016) – The Motlow State Community College music department will sponsor a piano trio benefit concert on Friday, Feb. 5, in Eoff Hall inside Powers Auditorium on the Moore County campus.

Cookies and coffee will be offered beginning at 6 p.m., with the concert commencing at 7 p.m.

Performing works of Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms and Reinhold Gliere will be Susan Mullen, violin; Mimi Nelson, cello; and Lisa Maurer, piano.

Ms. Mullen is the Director of Strings at The Webb School in Bell Buckle, and has been the Assistant Concertmaster of the Murfreesboro Symphony Orchestra since 1991. Ms. Nelson teaches strings at Central Magnet School in Murfreesboro and plays with the Murfreesboro Symphony. Ms. Maurer is on the adjunct faculty at Motlow and has a private studio in Tullahoma where she teaches piano and strings.

Reservations, while not required, may be made by calling 931-393-1700 or emailing Bobbie Underwood at bunderwood@mscc.edu. Admission is free and donations are appreciated, and will benefit the Motlow Music Department.

Donations should be made to the Motlow Foundation and on the memo line of all checks "Music Dept." should be written. There will be a donation box present at the auditorium for all donations.
