8/22: Motlow State to close for Labor Day
Motlow State Community College will be closed from Saturday - Monday, Sept. 3 - 5, for the Labor Day holiday according to college officials.

8/22: Motlow State recognizes Tennessee Promise/Tennessee Reconnect students with Welcome Week celebration
Motlow State Community College will offer a "sunny" welcome to both new and returning Tennessee Promise and Tennessee Reconnect students arriving on campus beginning next week with a special celebration at each of the Motlow State Moore County, Fayetteville, McMinnville and Smyrna campuses.

8/17: Lane Yoder named Director of Motlow College Foundation
Dr. Anthony Kinkel, president of Motlow State Community College, recently announced that Lane Yoder of Tullahoma has been selected as the director of the Motlow College Foundation.

8/12: Motlow State to offer ACT preparation course at Moore County campus beginning Sept. 12
Area high school students planning to take the ACT can prepare for the test by enrolling in an ACT preparation class at Motlow State Community College's Moore County campus. Classes will meet each Monday on Sept. 12, 19, 26, Oct. 3, and 10, from 6-8:30 p.m. in Simon Hall, room 132.

8/11: Motlow State student art exhibit on display at Moore County campus through September
The Motlow State Community College fine art department is featuring a two-part exhibition on the Moore County campus showcasing work by this summer's Motlow State student artists. The public is invited to view the art work in both the Clayton-Glass Library and the Marcum Technology Center.

8/8: Working adults looking for new opportunity find the answer at Motlow State in Fayetteville
Area working adults looking to improve their lives are finding the means to do so right here in their backyard at the Fayetteville campus of Motlow State Community College. The college is providing affordable education programs that accommodate the working adult and translate into better paying jobs.

8/8: Motlow College Foundation Golf Tournament Sept. 9 at Bear Trace
The Motlow College Foundation is planning its 23rd annual golf tournament for Friday, Sept. 9, at The Bear Trace at Tims Ford State Park.

8/8: ACE is the place to get online degree at Motlow State now
Getting a college education for working adults just got easier at Motlow State Community College, thanks to the Adult College Express (ACE) program now being offered online.

8/3: Motlow State EMS education program has successful summer
The summer of 2016 has proven to be a very successful one for the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) education program at Motlow State Community College. Several milestones and accomplishments occurred as the program completed its second year.

8/3: All Motlow State campuses closed part of the day August 18 for Fall Convocation
All Motlow State Community College campuses will be closed part of the day Aug. 18 to permit faculty and staff to attend fall convocation. All campuses will open at 2:30 that afternoon.

7/28: Motlow State alumnus Chris Hennessee carries Olympic Flame in Brazil
Motlow State Community College alumnus Chris Hennessee from McMinnville recently carried the Olympic Flame in Brazil as a torchbearer in the 2016 Olympic Torch Relay ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games to be held in Rio de Janeiro in August.

7/20: Motlow State student Summer Stevens meets with Tennessee State Speaker of the House
Motlow State Community College spring graduate Summer Stevens recently visited with the Tennessee State Speaker of the House Beth Harwell in Nashville to talk about "What it takes to be highly successful in the political world".

7/20: High School Equivalency Test to be Administered by Motlow State throughout 2016
Motlow State Community College will administer the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET™) several times throughout the remainder of 2016. Test locations will be in Winchester and on the Motlow State Fayetteville, Smyrna and Moore County campuses.

7/14: Fall semester application deadline for Motlow State is August 15
Students planning on attending Motlow State Community College this fall must submit an application for admission or readmission by Aug. 15, according to Shawn Gilbreath, assistant director of admissions and records at Motlow State.

7/12: Former Tullahoma resident donates to 'Books for Binns' project at Motlow's Clayton-Glass Library
Former Tullahoma resident Brad Scott recently donated seven college football related books to the Motlow State Community College Clayton-Glass Library as part of the 'Books for Binns' project.

7/8: Motlow State schedules Residual ACT test four times before fall semester
Motlow State Community College will administer the complete Residual ACT Assessment Test on July 20, July 29, and Aug. 5, from 8:30 a.m. - noon; and on Aug. 4, from 12:30 - 4 p.m. The test will be administered in room 1043 of the Crouch Center on the Moore County campus.

7/8: Motlow State seeks Adjunct Faculty members through Open House July 28
Due to the massive increase in full-time student enrollment this fall, Motlow State Community College is inviting anyone interested in potentially becoming an adjunct faculty member to attend an Open House on Thursday, July 28, at 5 p.m., on the Smyrna campus at 5002 Motlow College Blvd.

7/5: Motlow State Foundation recognizes Jack Daniel Distillery for support
Jack Daniel Distillery received the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Philanthropy at the recent biannual meeting of the Motlow State Community College Foundation Board of Trustees. The meeting was held on the Motlow Moore County campus.

7/5: Mentors needed for Tennessee Promise students
Motlow State Community College Tennessee Promise Coordinator Jonathan Graham is urging any interested Motlow faculty, staff and administrators, and members of the general public, to apply to the tnAchieves mentor program.
