12/02: Motlow State Community College offers hundreds of online employee training courses
Motlow State Community College has a new program that makes it easy for businesses to provide high-quality training for their employees—no matter how many employees they have or where they're located. Motlow has partnered with ed2go to offer hundreds of online, instructor-facilitated employee training courses.

12/01: Motlow State's Vincent Bush wins Engineering Technology award
Motlow State Community College mechatronics student Vincent Bush was recently named the first-place winner in the student competition of the Engineering and Engineering Technology section of the Tennessee Academy of Science (TAS) conference.

11/30: Motlow State Student Nurses Association welcomes LifeFlight
The Motlow State Community College Student Nurses Association (SNA) recently welcomed the Vanderbilt LifeFlight team to the Moore County campus. The SNA invited the LifeFlight team as part of its effort to collect food for the 'Backpack Food Program'.

Seventeen Motlow State Community College students recently went through an intense 12-hour boot camp that culminated with them being named the inaugural group of Motlow State Ambassadors

The Motlow State Community College music department is excited to present the 2016 Holiday Concert in early December in Powers Auditorium on the Moore County campus.

11/18: Author Niles Reddick to return to Motlow State for Book Signing
Decorated author Dr. Niles Reddick, a former member of the Motlow State Community College faculty, will return to the Moore County campus for a book signing and reception from 11 a.m. - noon on Monday, Nov. 21.

11/17: Motlow State awarded $5.5 million grant to build Advanced Robotics Training Center in McMinnville
The Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) and the governor’s office announced today that Motlow State Community College has been awarded a $5.5 million grant to build a state-of-the-art robotics training center near its McMinnville campus, according to Fred Rascoe, dean of career and technical programs for the College.

11/15: Motlow State and the University of Tennessee Chattanooga pen honors transfer agreement
Representatives from Motlow State Community College and the University of Tennessee Chattanooga recently signed an articulation agreement allowing Motlow State's Honors Program students to transfer seamlessly into the UTC Honors College's Innovations in Honors (IIH) program.

11/11: Motlow State closing for Thanksgiving Break
Motlow State Community College will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday from Thursday, Nov. 24, through Sunday, Nov. 27, according to college officials.

11/08: Tennessee Promise students must complete community service by Dec. 1
All current Motlow State Community College Tennessee Promise students have until Dec. 1 to complete eight hours of community service in order to remain eligible for the Tennessee Promise scholarship.

11/08: Tullahoma's JuliAnna Dykes earns National Honors Student of the Year award
Motlow State Community College sophomore JuliAnna Dykes of Tullahoma was recently recognized as the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) "Student of the Year" at the NCHC national conference in Seattle. Every year the NCHC awards one student from a four-year and one from a two-year institution.

11/08: Veterans Day ceremony, tailgate party lead into basketball home opener Friday at Motlow State
Veterans Day recognition celebration and a tailgate party with free food and fun will lead into the basketball home opener for the Motlow State Bucks and Lady Bucks this Friday in front of Nisbett Center on Motlow’s Moore County campus. Activities are scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. and the public, alumni, students, faculty and staff are all invited.

11/07: Motlow State’s Billy Hix Brings STEM Outreach Program to Lynchburg Elementary School
Billy Hix, director of the Motlow College Foundation STEM Outreach Program, recently visited Lynchburg Elementary School with his planetarium exhibit to help fifth graders learn about outer space.

11/04: Motlow State Public Safety Department Receives $2500 Grant from Tennessee Highway Safety Office
The Motlow State Public Safety Department was recently awarded a $2,500 grant from the Tennessee Highway Safety Office, according to Ray Higginbotham, director of the department.

11/02: Motlow State schedules Residual ACT test three times before spring semester
Motlow State Community College will administer the complete Residual ACT Assessment Test on Nov. 11 and Dec. 16, 8:30 a.m. &nd noon; and on Jan. 4, 12:30 p.m. – 4 p.m.  The test will be administered in room 1043 of the Crouch Center on the Moore County campus.

11/02: High School Equivalency tests to be administered by Motlow State
Motlow State Community College will administer the High School Equivalency (HiSET â„¢) tests several times throughout the remainder of 2016 and throughout 2017. Test locations will be in Winchester and on the Motlow State Fayetteville, Smyrna and Moore County campuses.

11/02: Motlow State Moore County Tennessee Promise students earn Community Service hours
The Motlow State Community College Moore County campus held a Campus Cleanup Day on Friday, Oct. 28, to provide Tennessee Promise students an opportunity to complete all eight hours of their community service before the Dec. 1 deadline.

10/31: Motlow College Foundation holds reception for scholarship donors and recipients
The Motlow College Foundation recently held a reception to thank Foundation scholarship donors and to honor scholarship recipients for the 2016-2017 academic year. Guests were joined by Motlow administration, faculty and staff in a show of appreciation to both parties.

10/31: Motlow State Moore County campus holds open house to celebrate opening of Student Activities and Resource Center
The Motlow State Community College Moore County campus recently held an open house to celebrate the grand opening of the Student Activities and Resource Center, located in the Forrester Student Center. The Activities Center allows students to watch television, play ping-pong, socialize, and relax in between classes.

10/31: International Society of Jack Daniels Collectors continues support for Motlow Foundation
The International Society of Jack Daniels Collectors recently made a contribution of $1,500 to the Motlow College Foundation is support of student scholarships.

10/21: Motlow State celebrates National Disability Employment Awareness Month with singer-songwriter Scott MacIntyre
Motlow State Community College recently sponsored singer-songwriter and author Scott MacIntyre for a speaking engagement on the Smyrna campus to celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month. MacIntyre, who is blind, recently competed as a finalist on American Idol.

10/20: AT&T donates $5,000 to Motlow State Community College
AT&T today announced a $5,000 contribution to Motlow State Community College to support non-traditional, underserved students preparing for high-skill jobs requiring technology-based skills in Tennessee community colleges. The donation will fund scholarships to help students begin a path toward completing their college degrees. The contribution was presented at Motlow State.

10/19: Motlow State provides opportunity for Tennessee Promise students to fulfill community service requirement
Motlow State Community College will be holding a Cleanup Day at all four of its campuses this fall to provide Tennessee Promise students the opportunity to fulfill their eight hours of community service requirement. The deadline for community service for the spring semester is Dec. 1.

10/18: Motlow State Moore County campus holds annual Cancer Awareness Walk to honor Greer Alsup
The Motlow State Community College Moore County campus recently held its annual Cancer Awareness Walk. This year's walk honored the memory of Motlow employee and friend Greer Alsup, who lost her battle to cancer in June.

10/14: Motlow State sponsors homeschool information night Oct. 25 on Moore County campus
The Motlow State Community College Nursing Department, in conjunction with Compassus Hospice and Palliative Care, will be offering hospice information sessions on Oct. 13, 20 and 27 on the Moore County campus.

10/14: Motlow College Foundation golf tournament held at The Bear Trace
Motlow State Community College is holding a “Motlow for Homeschoolers” information night on Tuesday, Oct. 25, from 5 - 6 p.m. on the Moore County campus. The session will be held in Room 105 in the Marcum Technology Center. The event is open to all homeschool parents and students who want to learn about critical information regarding attending college.

10/13: Motlow State to offer “Hospice 101” education seminars

The Motlow State Community College Nursing Department is sponsoring information sessions for prospective nursing students at the Moore County, Fayetteville, McMinnville and Smyrna campuses in October.

10/6: Greer Alsup Memorial Cancer Walk to be held at Motlow State Oct. 13
A memorial cancer walk will be held on the Moore County campus of Motlow State Community College on Thursday, Oct. 13, beginning at 1:45 p.m. at the Crouch Center.

10/5: Motlow State Cheer Squad tryouts on Oct. 14
Cheerleading is returning to Motlow State Community College. Cheer squad tryouts will be held on Friday, Oct. 14, on the Moore County campus inside Nisbett Center beginning at 1 p.m.

10/3: Motlow State Honors Program Alumni Association sponsors "Monster Bash" on Oct. 8
The Motlow State Community College Honors Alumni Association is sponsoring a fun-filled "Monster Bash" on the Moore County campus on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

9/29: Motlow State to observe Fall Break Oct. 7-11
Offices will remain open on their regular schedule, but no classes will be held during the break. This applies to the Moore County, Fayetteville, McMinnville and Smyrna campuses.

ITT Tech Institute students who have questions about continuing their education can find the answers at one of the four Motlow State Community College campuses.

9/22: Tennessee Promise Scholarship Saturday is Oct. 1 at Motlow Moore County and Smyrna campuses
Motlow State Community College's Moore County and Smyrna campuses will open up computer labs from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, for area high school seniors to sign up for Tennessee Promise.

9/21: Student Government Association brings intramural sports back to Motlow State
The program "kicked off" recently with kickball competition between students and faculty/staff at the softball field, with the students winning the overall contest. Over 40 students signed up to participate, providing a strong turnout for the event on a beautiful, but quite warm, late summer day.

The Honors Alumni Association at Motlow State Community College is holding a benefit spaghetti luncheon for a local volunteer firefighter Friday, Sept. 23, on the Moore County campus. The luncheon will be held in the cafeteria in the Forrester Student Center 12 - 1:30 p.m.

Along with faculty, staff and guests, students at the Fayetteville campus of Motlow State Community College recently celebrated their return to school at the "Future So Bright" mixer. The event was part of week-long festivities welcoming returning and new students for the fall semester.

9/13: Motlow State Theatre Department to present children's drama "Snow White" beginning Oct. 26
Motlow State Community College theatre students will present the children's drama, "Snow White", Oct. 26 – Nov. 4, in Powers Auditorium inside Eoff Hall on the Moore County Campus. The production is directed by Emily Seal, assistant professor of speech and theatre at Motlow.

9/13: Miss Tennessee to visit Motlow State for Miss Music Row Pageant
Miss Tennessee Grace Burgess and Miss Tennessee Outstanding Teen Leah Grace Humble will be attending the Miss Music Row Beauty Pageant, an official preliminary to Miss Tennessee/Miss America, on Saturday, Sept. 17, at Motlow State Community College. The official preliminary at Motlow will begin at 6 p.m. inside Powers Auditorium in Eoff Hall on the Moore County campus.

9/13: Motlow State to host area-wide College and Career Fair Sept. 15
The 2016 College and Career Fair will be held at Motlow State Community College on Thursday, Sept. 15, inside Nisbett Center on the Moore County campus. Over 30 colleges and universities, technology centers, specialty schools and the Armed Forces will be participating. Area high school students, homeschool students and the general public are invited along with all Motlow students.

8/12: Motlow State to offer ACT preparation course at Moore County campus beginning Sept. 12
Area high school students planning to take the ACT can prepare for the test by enrolling in an ACT preparation class at Motlow State Community College's Moore County campus. Classes will meet each Monday on Sept. 12, 19, 26, Oct. 3, and 10, from 6-8:30 p.m. in Simon Hall, room 132.

The Motlow State Community College fine art department is featuring a two-part exhibition on the Moore County campus showcasing work by this summer's Motlow State student artists. The public is invited to view the art work in both the Clayton-Glass Library and the Marcum Technology Center.

7/28: Motlow State alumnus Chris Hennessee carries Olympic Flame in Brazil
Motlow State Community College alumnus Chris Hennessee from McMinnville recently carried the Olympic Flame in Brazil as a torchbearer in the 2016 Olympic Torch Relay ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games to be held in Rio de Janeiro in August.

Motlow State Community College spring graduate Summer Stevens recently visited with the Tennessee State Speaker of the House Beth Harwell in Nashville to talk about "What it takes to be highly successful in the political world".

Students planning on attending Motlow State Community College this fall must submit an application for admission or readmission by Aug. 15, according to Shawn Gilbreath, assistant director of admissions and records at Motlow State.

7/12: Former Tullahoma resident donates to 'Books for Binns' project at Motlow's Clayton-Glass Library
Former Tullahoma resident Brad Scott recently donated seven college football related books to the Motlow State Community College Clayton-Glass Library as part of the 'Books for Binns' project.

Due to the massive increase in full-time student enrollment this fall, Motlow State Community College is inviting anyone interested in potentially becoming an adjunct faculty member to attend an Open House on Thursday, July 28, at 5 p.m., on the Smyrna campus at 5002 Motlow College Blvd.

7/5: Motlow State Foundation recognizes Jack Daniel Distillery for support
Jack Daniel Distillery received the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Philanthropy at the recent biannual meeting of the Motlow State Community College Foundation Board of Trustees. The meeting was held on the Motlow Moore County campus.
