The last reported statistics state 181,648 women and 1,826 men were diagnosed with breast cancer. Breast Cancer Awareness Month encourages friends and family to discuss screening, risks and prevention. The National Cancer Institute provides this extensive site as a service to public health.

Tennessee's annual sales tax holiday begins in August 2006. The holiday starts each year at 12:01 a.m. on the first Friday in August and ends at 11:59 p.m. on the following Sunday. Thus, for 2006, the holiday will start at 12:01 a.m. on Aug. 4 and end at 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 6.
