Library Services:

Clayton-Glass Library offers a variety of services to students, faculty, staff and community members. We invite you to make use of these valuable services.

Library Orientation

Each Motlow library offers library orientation and bibliographic instruction for classes and specialized computer-based research workshops for faculty. In addition, a personalized library orientation for individuals by Reference Librarians is available by request. If you are a faculty member and would like to request a bibliographic instruction session (library orientation) in Clayton-Glass Library for your class, click Here.

Delivery Service

Delivery service is available for materials between the four Motlow Library locations (Moore County, Fayetteville, McMinnville, and Smyrna). Requests for materials are made at any of the branch libraries. Most materials may be delivered within one to two working days. Materials include books, videos, DVDs, audio materials, print outs of magazine/journal articles, and Interlibrary Loans.

Interlibrary Loan

Students and faculty may borrow books from any library world wide. Talk to a librarian or see the Interlibrary Loan section of Circulation Services for more information. After reading, you can make requests using the online Request Form. In most cases libraries do not lend non-print materials. For additional library services from TBR and UT Libraries see Tennessee Academic Library Consortium (TALC).

Online Catalog

The online catalog provides access to books, magazines and journals, videos, audio materials, and pamphlet files. The record for each item will designate the location of the item, and its availability (available, checked out, etc.). Motlow students and staff may request materials at all Motlow branch libraries. (See Delivery Service.)

Motlow shares its library catalog with the Tennessee Innovative Network (TIN) member Libraries include Tennessee Technological University, Motlow State, Pellissippi State, Roane State, and Volunteer State Community Colleges. Users may view the catalogs of these libraries in the Advanced Search mode or by clicking on the TIN link on the catalog home page. To borrow materials from these libraries, click on Interlibrary Loan or TALC.

Online Databases

A variety of online databases are available to students, faculty, and staff through the Library's web pages. These databases index over 11,000 full-text magazine, journal, and newspaper titles and millions of articles. Full-text of over a hundred traditional reference books and 55,000 ebooks are also available through these databases. You may search most of our databases simultaneously using our newest database, Article Multi-Search. More information is available on library databases by subject, or alphabetically with descriptions. You can access most of these databases from home or any off campus location 24/7. See Remote Access Instructions, or contact your nearest Motlow Library for help.

This page provides links to online reserves that are for course materials assigned by faculty. Click on reserve to see courses. Some materials require Adobe Acrobat Reader® to read.

Online Reference

Have a question? Feel free to email questions to library@mscc.edu and we will respond within 24 weekday hours. If you would rather talk to a live person, go to your nearest Motlow Library.

TALC (Tennessee Academic Library Consortium)

Motlow students, faculty, and staff may obtain a TALC Card from their local Motlow library branch. This card may be used at all Tennessee Board of Regents and University of Tennessee Libraries.
