Program Description

This program is intended for students who are seeking a short-term program concentrated in the area of early childhood education for the purpose of developing or updating credentials leading to Child Development Associate (CDA).

The academic coursework in this program are designed for the following:

preparation for the CDA (Child Development Associate) assessment and credentialing
individuals seeking employment in a private child care facility in the Star Quality Child Care Program or Head Start Program
students who may wish to continue on a path toward an Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood

Practical Experience

Students will be involved in the following:

supervised practicum with both seminar and early childhood practical experiences
curriculum planning
materials preparation
problem solving
skills development
