Education Department

The Motlow College Education Department is dedicated to the improvement of the educational community which we serve.  We believe that our team of committed individuals makes a positive difference in the quality of life for our students by providing exceptional learning opportunities for all.

Our mission is to:

Empower students with the knowledge, skills, and insights that will allow them to pursue their career goals successfully;

Provide a quality education for students seeking careers in areas of instruction and care to infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary students;

Provide a unique avenue by which students can gain the skills and attitudes necessary to maintain lifelong health, fitness, and well-being; and

Build the foundation for lifelong learners who will help build a society able to address the challenges of tomorrow.

The Education Department houses the curricula for the Education and Physical Education programs, including the Associate of Science in Teaching (K-6), the Associate of Applied Science and Technical Certificate in Early Childhood Education, and the Associate of Science in Health and Physical Education and Recreation

Programs are fully transferrable and a 2+2 program in Elementary Education (K-6) in partnership with Tennessee Technological University allows students to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education on either the Moore County Campus or at the McMinnville Center.

The Department also oversees the Adult College Express (ACE) program which allows working adults to earn the Associate of Science in General Studies in two years in an accelerated learning community.

The Dual/Joint Enrollment program which serves approximately 500 area high school students is also housed in the Education Department.
