Degree Checklist

Program Description

The Associate of Science degree with emphasis on Entrepreneurship is designed to prepare students for transfer to a four-year college or university. This program is for students interested in pursuing a career in business or a business related position that may eventually evolve into business ownership or entrepreneurship. In addition to core curriculum, students studying Entrepreneurship will be introduced to the following:
  • accounting systems applicable to business ownership
  • an understanding of organizational and operational strategies involved in running a business
  • an understanding of the facets of business management involved in certain types of business
  • business concepts that can be used in business consulting, business management or ownership
  • preparation for bachelor's degree completion at any one of Tennessee's colleges or universities

Practical Experience

Students will be engaged in the learning process through activities and business applications such as:
  • critical thinking
  • in-depth research and analysis and business exploration of and existing business of interest to the student
  • accounting and economic applications
  • computer hardware and software applications
  • interaction with students and instructors
  • exposure to fascinating coursework, lectures and classroom interaction

Career Opportunities

Upon completion of our Associates of Science Degree in Entrepreneurship and successful transfer and completion of a four-year baccalaureate program at one of Tennessee's four-year college or universities, you may potentially start your career in one of these entry-level positions:
  • business manager
  • business consultant
  • business owner
