Program Description
The Associates of Science degree with emphasis on Entrepreneurship is designed to prepare students for transfer to a four-year college or university. This program is for students interested in pursuing a career in business or a business related position that may eventually evolve into business ownership or entrepreneurship. In addition to core curriculum, students studying Entrepreneurship will be introduced to the following:
- accounting systems applicable to business ownership
- an understanding of organizational and operational strategies involved in running a business
- an understanding of the facets of business management involved in certain types of business
- business concepts that can be used in business consulting, business management or ownership
- preparation for bachelor's degree completion at any one of Tennessee's colleges or universities
Practical Experience
Students will be engaged in the learning process through activities and business applications such as:
- critical thinking
- in-depth research and analysis and business exploration of and existing business of interest to the student
- accounting and economic applications
- computer hardware and software applications
- interaction with students and instructors
- exposure to fascinating coursework, lectures and classroom interaction
Career Opportunities
Upon completion of our Associates of Science Degree in Entrepreneurship and successful transfer and completion of a four-year baccalaureate program at one of Tennessee's four-year college or universities, you may potentially start your career in one of these entry-level positions:
- business manager
- business consultant
- business owner
