Program Description

The Associates of Science degree with emphasis on Entrepreneurship is designed to prepare students for transfer to a four-year college or university. This program is for students interested in pursuing a career in business or a business related position that may eventually evolve into business ownership or entrepreneurship. In addition to core curriculum, students studying Entrepreneurship will be introduced to the following:

accounting systems applicable to business ownership
an understanding of organizational and operational strategies involved in running a business
an understanding of the facets of business management involved in certain types of business
business concepts that can be used in business consulting, business management or ownership
preparation for bachelor's degree completion at any one of Tennessee's colleges or universities

Practical Experience

Students will be engaged in the learning process through activities and business applications such as:

critical thinking
in-depth research and analysis and business exploration of and existing business of interest to the student
accounting and economic applications
computer hardware and software applications
interaction with students and instructors
exposure to fascinating coursework, lectures and classroom interaction

Career Opportunities

Upon completion of our Associates of Science Degree in Entrepreneurship and successful transfer and completion of a four-year baccalaureate program at one of Tennessee's four-year college or universities, you may potentially start your career in one of these entry-level positions:

business manager
business consultant
business owner
