Hemmingsen Named First-Team All-TJCCAA
The only sophomore on this year's Lady Bucks roster, Megan Hemmingsen was rewarded for her outstanding offensive year by being named to the All-Tennessee Junior/Community College Athletic Association first team.
Hemmingsen hit .351 on the season and led the team with 14 home runs, 38 RBI, and 29 walks. Freshmen Kayla Cole, who hit .375 with seven homers and 36 RBI, and Kelsey Woodruff who led the Lady Bucks with a .413 batting average while slamming six homers, were both named to the second team.
Lady Bucks Sign Georgia Guard Natalie Collins
For the first time in a long time, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe senior Natalie Collins will play for a basketball coach other than the Lady Warriors’ Wayne Weaver.
Collins’ career began on Weaver’s rec team, and Tuesday afternoon at LFO she signed papers to continue it next season at Motlow State Community College.

Bucks Season Ends With Playoff Loss
The Motlow Bucks saw their disappointing 2008 diamond campaign come to a close when they suffered a 5-1 defeat at the hands of Southwest Tennessee in a play-in contest at the TJCCAA/Region VII baseball tournament in Columbia, TN. Read game details here.
Motlow completes the season with a 5-20 record in the conference and a 11-35 overall record.
Jones, Kirk Sign With Southeast Missouri State
Southeast Missouri State University basketball coach Scott Edgar has announced the signing of Motlow State Community College teammates, Bijon Jones and Israel Kirk.
"I am proud to announce two new Redhawks," Edgar said. "As I was putting the finishing touches on my 2008 recruiting class, I was looking for young men with basketball ability who also had great character. I feel I have fulfilled what I was looking for in our two new recruits."
