Non-Degree Seeking Students

Transient students

You are considered a transient student if you are already enrolled at another college or university, but would like take a limited number of credit hours during the summer semester.

Step 2: Submit required documents:

  • Submit all college transcripts. Request that an official transcript from each college or university previously attended to be forwarded directly to the Office of Admissions and Records.
  • Provide proof of United States citizenship or lawful presence. View acceptable documents.

Transient students can only take Motlow classes during the summer semester. To be able to register for summer classes on May 1, you must have a letter of good standing and a partial transcript if a class is needed as pre-requisite. These should be forwarded directly to the Office of Admissions and Records at Motlow State from the college or university where the applicant is regularly enrolled.

A final transcript from the college or university must be sent to Motlow at the end of spring term before a transcript can be sent back to home institution. You must submit an official request to the Office of Admissions and Records at Motlow to have an official transcript forwarded to the home institution at the end of the summer term.

Non-degree seeking students

Non-degree-seeking students may not enroll in a college-level English or mathematics course, or in a course that has an English or mathematics pre-requisite, until you have provided appropriate ACT, assessment scores, or prior college course work showing evidence of adequate preparation for these courses.

Step 2: Submit required documents:

  • Provide proof of high school graduation by either:
    1. high school transcript noting regular diploma and graduation date;
    2. GED test scores of 45 or more, if taken before 2002 or 450, if taken after 2020; in addition
    3. if you have attended any college/university, an official transcript from the last college/university is required.
  • Provide proof of United States citizenship or lawful presence. View acceptable documents.
