Welcome Special Students for Credit!
A special student for credit is a student who is taking one or more courses for credit at Motlow but is not pursuing a degree or certificate credit program.
To be admitted as a special student for credit, a person must do the following.
- Submit a completed application for admission form to the Office of Admissions and Records.
- Provide proof of high school graduation by (1) high school transcript noting regular diploma and graduation date; (2) GED test scores of 45 or more, if taken before 2002 or 450, if taken after 2020; in addition (3) if the student has attended any college/university, an official transcript from the last college/university is required.
- Submit proof of citizenship - show proof by valid regular Tennessee driver license or an official birth certificate issued by a U.S. state, jurisdiction, or territory (a temporary driver license is NOT acceptable)
Special students for credit may not enroll in a college-level English or mathematics course, or in a course that has an English or mathematics pre-requisite, until they have provided appropriate ACT, assessment scores, or prior college course work showing evidence of adequate preparation for these courses.
