Urgent Reminder for Fall; Only Two Weeks Left to File FAFSA
June 13, 2011
Students wishing to attend Motlow College's fall semester have just a little over two weeks to file their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in time to make the financial aid processing deadline of July 15 according to Joe Myers, executive director of financial aid for the College. Students filing after that time will still get aid if they qualify, but their funds may not be available in time to pay for their classes before the established purge dates.
Debra Smith, assistant director for student services at Motlow's Fayetteville Center stresses, "Every semester, we see students who qualify for aid yet because they filed late, they are unable to attend because payment for their classes doesn't arrive in time and they don't have the means to pay for their classes up front."
Officials at the College stress that all student requirements must be met by the July 15 deadline to be eligible for fall enrollment. Students who have preregistered and have not paid their fees will be deleted (purged) from classes at 7:00 a.m. on August 22.
In addition to allowing time for financial aid processing, Smith also pointed out that the admissions deadline for fall enrollment is August 19. Any applications submitted after that date will have to wait until the spring semester to attend.
