Participants Proud of Achievements

Ask Me about MP3?
MP3 is proven; it is powerful, and it is popular. Most importantly, it is successful. The Motlow College Participant Partnership Program (MP3), an academic and cultural enrichment program, recently completed its pilot program that was launched during the spring semester by recognizing and honoring 30 Motlow student completers during a year-end celebration banquet held on the Moore County campus.
Accepting the challenge to stretch themselves academically, socially, and culturally, students participated in twice weekly study hall sessions, monthly group training and seminars, and weekly meetings with Motlow faculty and staff volunteer mentors and tutors. The group toured historical Civil Rights landmarks in Birmingham, Ala, including 16th Street Baptist Church, Civil Rights Museum, and the Vulcan. The program results included significant academic gains individually and collectively, enhanced social skills, and personal growth among the participants.
The MP3 Program staff members are Sonya Hood, program director; Brenda Cannon, Delpha Dickson, and Jerry Nichols, assistant program directors; and Regina Burden, senior advisor and assistant vice president for student affairs.
